DAILY STORM CELLZ |
Itz a period of sweat and tearz aboard with the average day bringing oppressive heat and humidity. Along with this tropical heat comes the daily storm that turnz day in2 nite and dry into wet.
"Oh!, the joy of the WET"
Itz a thyme to get on top of maintenance issues with an unexpected find this week my old friend Mr Woodrot reared his ugly head. The end of the Boom (bottom of sail no 3) had a freshwater leak on one of the support boltz, this resulted in the wood dissolving and requiring my attention.
We have managed a fish or two but just around the loading jetty for queenies and GT's.
Other than that itz a very quiet thyme aboard.
We are aiming for a Barra trip this weekend if all goes according to plan!
I managed to get about 300meters from the river itself B4 the yot got stuck in the mud.
So until the following afternoon it was twiddle thumbs thyme but eventually the water returned and Galleycat parked just inside the river mouth to await the arrival of Andrew and Chris on Friday evening. Turns out 2B a popular Barra spot as 3 other boats arrived B4 Andrew.
Everyone agrees we need more rain to flush the system and set things in motion.
Everybody haz now left the river and gone back to town while I've taken up residence on the very top corner of Woodah Island to give Honey some "land" thyme.
There are several fantastic Islandz I passed on my journey here that I'll be visiting on my return trip. The best of these islands must B: Cool Yal You Ma Island "classic name".
Gr8 fishing and beaches but only small oysterz. 2 out of 3 aint bad!(Meatloaf)

ReplyDeleteLooks like the allure of the Tropical islands or should that be Eylandts has started to lose its sparkle. Have you got any timeframe in mind for the return East. Was thinking about maybe trying to get up that way for a week but that would likely be towards July? The alternative is to try and make Bathurst for the Final "V8" race on the mountain - The rice burners won't have the same appeal!! Heading to Adelaide in 13 days and 9 hours but who's counting. I was talking to Emily last night about catching up with the YOT again to meet Honey and restore some of that work life balance that seems to elude us mere mortals. Will have to wait and see what happens over the next few months to determine exactly what the plans are but at this stage Bathurst from Friday thru Monday is the Plan and then maybe catch up either the week before or week after for a bit of fishing and relaxation (WKOA). Anyway we will just have to wait and see. Hope the fishing holds up and the YOT maintenance settles in to a more likable routine. Fair winds and tight lines!! Cheers for Now
