Lots of hectic days this week with the mast receiving some much needed attention. Two new drawers have been added to the workbench / outboard cover of the kitchen. These drawers are 316 stainless steel chaffing dish trays that will outlast theYOT.They open from both the cooking and walkway side of the bench.Once again I'm struggling to incorperate more than two images on this blog.

Ha Ha I've managed to trick the computer into allowing an update thus getting another couple of images into the blog.

Also this week the Boom has been fitted to the mast which allows the Mainsail or the BIG WHITE FLAPPY THING to work. Also the prep work is in place to attach the jib or THE FRONT WHITE FLAPPY THING to the YOT. This requires the roller furler and forestay to be fitted which means I have to go up the mast (some 13 meters) and attach the top of the furler, while I'm up there I'll be trying to repare/replace the navigation lights. As it currently stands only 1 light on the mast works and b4 we head to sea all the navigation lights need to be working properly. No real drama until you realize that you need to be 13 meters above the deck to check a bulb or clean a wiring joint.I have lots of faith in Ken who'll be operating the winch as I go up in the bosun's chair. If all goes well 3 weeks time I'll be blogging from Rattlesnake Island which is 18 nautical miles north of here. Big Ash will be sound asleep after battling 20kg giant trevally of Fly gear.We should have a few interesting Foto's to upload.
That's it from THE GALLEY CAT this week!
LONG LIVE FRIDAY NITE'S!

Greetings, Captain Felix.
ReplyDeleteYou really have no-one but yourself to blame for the deck getting crowded- but you'll surely find the "crowd" very useful and user-friendly, when/IF you ever get everything finished !!!!
By the way-not ALL of WA is ignoring you - I seem to remember posting a Blog comment this week, AND several phonecalls W-E.
It will be fun learning how to work the "white flappy things" and having Ash there to share some time.
Our house stuff is coming along- tiles for alfresco and upstairs "sun room" all organised, as are the kitchen and alfresco wall tiles. We've chosen the ensuite wall tiles, but haven't bought them yet - the place we saw them is undergoing renovations (rather like the yot!!) and we think they may well have a big sale (NOT a white flappy thing!!!!) once the reno is done. As there's no urgency, it's a wait and see (NOT the blue wet stuff the yot sails on !!)
Enough for now - just letting you know WA is not ignoring you completely!!
Stay safe and happy.

Well, i was out on the big wet thing getting my lures torn to pieces by spanish mack and moster Trev's. The sharks had a few nice feeds when we where too slow, but we had 3 hours of madness that resulted in us bagging out and leaving them on the feed. Oh and my lure box looking very poor. But it was worth it. I had a Mack jump over the roof of the boat, that was interesting. I saw more Mack's in the air than I have ever seen before, they nearly jumped in the boat a few times. Great fishing...
ReplyDeleteJust thought I would let you know what's going on here.
