After abandoning our previous planz 4 a special ANZAC weekend we ended up reinstating a revised version.
With the weather not flash for fishing but OK for camping, we set off for Marble Point on the top end of Groote.
I led the way on Saturday evening then Andrew and Chris followed on Sunday morn.
We anchored in the shallows then set about finding fish in the bay and surrounding reef area'z.
Most enjoyable with heaps of coral trout, mangrove jax and queenies hitting the soft plastics and hard bodied lures.
So much so that we ended up with some real quality fillets.
Huge Oysters were also located too act as entree for our pizza evening.This was a dry run for Hanni's trip in a few weex. If the weather isn't nice we now have a back up location for the guyz.
The kleen hulls make a huge difference to the Yot with speeds back to 6 or 7 knots under sail.

Who shot Cory???
My resident lizzard is sporting a new accessory, Cory has the head of a traditional spear sticking out the side of his skull!
I now need 2B extra cautious as he's probably not 2 happy about it!, and an unhappy croc is a dangerous croc.
The local cops have organised a trap to catch Cory, then they'lll get a vet to remove the spear.
Hanni and the Brotherhood are due to arrive soon and the weathers done itz usual thing and increased the wind and wave factor ten fold.
Still we made plans for just this occasion.

ReplyDeleteLooks like, despite the change of plans, the Anzac Day activities were fun for all. We are slowly working our way through LOTS of yummy fish from the freezer - haven't tackled the big Dhu fillet yet as we need quite a crowd to do it justice.
Am sending a small parcel to you, express post, on Monday - just a couple of fun bits for the Cat.
Dad and I are off to Phuket and Singapore for 11 days in September !!!! We were having a coffee at Whitfords yesterday and Dad saw an ad for an 8 day trip to Viet Nam - great price but airfares not included, so we popped into flight Centre so sus out airfares to Hanoi- WAY to costly to really consider, unfortunately. While Dad was telling bad jokes to the assistant (nothing changes!!!!) I read a special on the window for 8 days in Phuket, including airfares and meals. We followed that up, as it seemed a really good deal. Only available in September, but that suits us OK, and they could extend the trip to include a 3 day stopover in Singapore. SO WE BOOKED IT !!!!!!
Much door painting has also happened this week, with all doors except the Frenchies now done.
Hope the weather for Hani's visit is looking favourable and that you all manage to catch LOTS of big fish and no leather handbags!!!!
