SOUTHBOUND AGAIN,

G'day All,

Galleycat has left Exmouth behind and set course for Dirk Hartog Island and its southerly wind shelter. Just a short hop of 220 nm so we've set off straight into a 20 knot Southerly.
Itz 4 dayz later and we are tied to the jetty at Canarvon. The 20 knot wind we faced turned into 25/30 knots for the whole trip down (very uncomfortable)
Another 4 dayz and we have finally arrived in Geraldton. 3 days of pleasure then 1 day of extreme unpleasure. We left Steep Point and pointed the yot South along the super dangerous Zuytdorp Cliffs 180 km of sheer cliff face with 100 meters of water in front so no safety. We had 2 days of gr8 weather and we made good ground.
Then unfortunately we had another fuel filter issue with the port motor. The motor keeps stalling even with new filters in place and changing filters at sea is difficult enuf. Jimbo was a gun at this after 3 changes. This left us with one motor and a reduced speed down to 5 knots as the ruff weather arrives on cue. Down to 4 knots and very uncomfortable!
Then 12 miles from Geraldton harbour we lost the starboard motor as well. Not good!
We got sea rescue on the line but they don't have a boat big enough to tow us to safety, so itz up to us...
We changed filterz and re primed the Stb motor and bang we were underway again still limping but we finally arrived at Geraldton then it waz thyme for a hearty meal then a massive sleep.
After 3 dayz of fixing and cleaning we are ready to leave Geraldton behind us and head towards Jurien Bay or even straight thru to Lancelin.
Safely arrived in Lancelin after a high speed run, 7 knots. (Leewin Current)
No more filter issues this thyme and we arrived just B4 another big blow. Jim has returned to Perth while I sit out the next week of bad weather.
