CAPE YORK REVISITED...

Seisia Beach Jetty

G'day All,
The paradise I've been seeking haz now been found!
We are three days into our Cape York Exploratory Trip, and we've found a beach to rival "Whitehaven"!
Crystal water, pure silica white powder, coconut tree's and plenty of firewood.
We Fraser, Katie and Myself have taken up residence on the North coast of York Island just 2 miles from Cape York.
Our trip North used the tidal influence to carry the Yot to a Cape York sunset rendezvous.
We did not go "fishless" either, the initial run yielding the biggest cobia I've ever caught taking "BIG BERTHA" a monster popper that Hanni left me. The popper is that large that itz better to tow behind the Yot rather than destroy your casting arm.
Plenty of beautiful fillets for the barbie with a thai marinade used that evening on grilled fish portions with fried rice.
Little did we realise that our anchorage would turn out to be such a gem.
An evening run ashore for sunset fotoz revealed a good supply of rock oysters.
This place getz betta and betta!
2km of crystal white sand that is straight out of any south pacific novel. However,
We left the bay to take advantage of tides and wind. Our destination The Gr8 Barrier Reef  just 6 nm from the bay. 3 huge reef systems and 5 islands are all within 2 hour reach.
The overcast conditions didn't do the reef justice!, however we did find a fantastic island to watch the sunset.
No fish day or night, a little disturbing but I've only just begun to explore the area.
We spent the night out on the reef before heading back to paradise.
No wind, glass calm water with heaapz of surface activity and a true South Pacific jungle with coconut palms and vines everywhere.
I think I've found my base for the next few months.
However we have heaps more to visit in the next few dayz. Maybe I've just scratched the surface the idea of this trip is exploration (wkoa) after all..
I've heard from Lolla she's alive and having a blast in Kurunda or maybe (Karumba) who knows!
Our Cape York pilgramige has yielded some amazing findz.
The Gr8 barrier iz here in all itz glory which makes for good diving and fishing. With plenty of islands and sand cays to shelter if needed.
Then return to Paradise Bay...
It'll do!

OUT AT THE REEF!
Paradise Bay left
With Thursday Island proving to be a good supply base and features in most directions, this loox to be the right area 2 spend the next few months.
We have returned to Base for a resupply and postage run.
Heapz of  the ordered repair stuff haz arrived just no fibreglass yet.
Paradise bay right
Paradise beach (not itz true name) is just 4 hours from here with Cape York and Seisia just 2 1/2 hours away.
There seemz no end to Tropical Islands and reef structures to explore and fish.
I'm slowly seeing justification (wkoa) for the return journey from Groote.
The locals are so friendly and all offer advice on which Islands to visit.
Google Earth is copping a flogging as we look up island locations.
CAPE YORK
Fraser and Katie have slipped into the Galleycat lifestyle with ease.
A visit to Cape York was on their list of thingz to do. Done!
Croc spotting waz also on the list, with 3 spotted so far, with 14 ft being the biggest handbag so far.
The garden is slowly coming back to full production with most of the plants, replanted or recovered from the salt water drenching during the crossing. We are finally able to grow seedlings from seeds thanx 2 cut done 1.25 litre soft drink bottlez used as mini greenhouses for the fragile seedlingz.
This week I'll put down  new tomatoes, basil and oregano all of which didn't survive the salt.
With the yot resupplied we have once again set off, this thyme for Prince of Wales Island and itz surrounding islandz and river systems.
The wind is a steady 20 knots this week so we'll park in one of the secluded bays 4 shelter.
The journey continuez!
