AUSTRALIA DAY THE GALLEYCAT WAY !!!

SEAFOOD SHOPPING CENTRE
G'day All,
With Australia Day upon us it waz thyme 2 go and collect our seafood 4 the Barbie.
Oyster are definitely on the menu with an afternoon in the shallowz yielding 2 onion bags full of these monster sized tasty delicacies. Then we are at an impass! coral trout, cod or Spanish mackerel?
Decisions decisionz!
Dessert will of course consist of pavlova with cream and fruit.
We may end up with an Asian influence on the main course as 2 of us have suggested Thai fish curry or fish cakes.
Either way I'm sure it'll be a meal worthy of our efforts aboard the collection yot.
We ended up with a mixed seafood main served with creamy garlic sauce and rice.
Follow the next day by fresh oyster and cream cheese pizza's
Chris and I left town on Saturday morning and made our way to a group of islands about 20 miles North of town. The idea was to have a crack at finding sum mudcrabs,
No joy!
Lotz of crabs filled the traps but you'd need seriously lotz of hermit crabs for a feed!
We then revisited the lump I was on last week with a large queeny, the only stand out capture. However we did manage to park the yot on a solid lump of granite in the middle of nowhere. Once we were free and the hulls checked 4 damage we continued our journey towardz Chasm Island.
We tried a few co-ordinates supplied by Kane with only 1 being productive, yielding instant resultz. The trophy phish here was a large golden snapper around the 8kg mark.
Trolling linez re-set and we were off again in search of a nite thyme anchorage in the islands.
A monster mack came 2 play on the ever popular red and white Halco. We put his weight around the 18 kg mark not the biggest I've caught but still a sizeable fish.
We found refuge behind (ready for it) Angarmulumardja Island!
 "try that one B4 breakfast"!
Here we put Honey ashore for the obligatory toilet break while Chris and I searched the shallows 4 a suitable oyster rock. It didn't take long and soon we were filling our bag with palm sized oysters.
Once again the only problem with collecting these tasty treatz iz someone haz 2 shuck them!
We both hooked into the task and an hour later we had a meal fit for the royal family.
We also spent an hour trolling the shallows in the tinny early this morn resulting in trout, queenies, trevally, couta and a couple of hard fighting codz.
Then it waz thyme 2 point the Yot once again towards town with our collection of seafood.
Our Australia Day banquet was aboard and just needed 2B prepared for the table.
It was here we made our biggest mistake!
We attempted to pass through Winchelsea Passage!, however the tide had other ideaz. Without water no matter how good your navigation (wkoa) you cannot proceed. So we become stuck for around 4 hours B4 refloating and reversing course for the safety of the open ocean.
On the whole we had ran aground far more thymes than was comfortable. This is sumthin I need to take greater care with.

Chris has managed to take this footage- edit, resize, crop and add the well known sound track.
He's done a fantastic job, this is your first look at my backyard lizard a small 4 metre specimen (Cory) that visits daily. We attached the queenie caught earlier to a balloon and you can C the result.
I've been trying for several years now to edit and upload video to the blog but it loox like Chris might of cracked it.
Now all I have to do is learn how it waz done!

Australia Day 2016
One special event over the last week waz an email from my long lost passenger Destiny, who left the Yot in Sashia to walk to Cairns. She managed a 300km trek to the Daintree Rainforest (unbelievable effort) where she then camped for a month and is now back in Canada working as a remote tour guide. I'm just glad she's alive as I had my doubtz.
Congratz to an amazing individual!

G'day again, It turns out uploading a video is only a quarter of the battle trying to delete a failed upload is next to impossible hopefully one of these 3 attempts can be seen by all.
Thatz all 4 this update
More 2 follow soon.
