The whole boat haz been sandblasted back 2 raw aluminium.
Itz now a week later and the yot iz ready for welding then painting.
3 dayz of blasting haz removed an estimated 10 coats of primer and antifouling plus the original red coating on the hulls and underside of the belly. Itz now thyme to look at painting this massive area and once again we will bring in professional help. The hull must be sprayed with an acid wash B4 the primer and top coats.
It'll take a few dayz but the end result should be a job we can be proud of.
The hullz will now be gloss white and then 2 coats of anti-fouling below the waterline.
We had to wait for the tail end of a cyclone to pass which brought heavy rainz and very strong windz.
The high pressure sandblasting haz revealed several pin prick size holes in the 2 hullz. Each of these will be ground back filled then welded B4 we cover the whole area with 2 or 3 thick coats of primer which should seal and protect the areas from any more corrosion pointz.
