CAIRNZ DEPARTURE^^^NORTH^^^

PLANT LOVE!

G'day everyone!,
The repairs are nearly complete with the fibreglass work taking most of the past few dayz.
The rudder is  repaired with the engineer doing a gr8 job on the bracket.
I took yesterday afternoon to give my "green larder" a refresher B4 heading away from the civilized world.
I've managed to get 11 different herbz plus 5 types of green leafy stuff, for vege or saladz in2 the planterz..
The trick to growing anything out here is treat salt water like itz a death cloud.
"Still, they are a necessity 4 this trip".
The fibreglass worx R now complete "finally", as well as the arrival of the new Suzuki motor for the dinghy.
I spent a morning repairing "as best I can" the damaged spinnaker.5 large tears and 4 small holes have been taped, I'll sew these patches somethyme this week.
With the list of itemz needing attention getting smaller and smaller
itz finally thyme 2 point the Yot Northwards and leave Cairns behind.3 months is too long!
With the prospect of heavy weather this week it'll probably be the weekend B4 I get away.
It loox like I've found a willing crew member, with Duncan joining me on Wednesday. I may also of found a new 4 legged friend with a shelter near Port Douglas having a Staffy X that needs a new home!
Hanni and his Brotherz have been on the fone and would like to come up 4 a trip out in the next few weex so I'm thinking Port Douglas will be a definite port of call soon.
The votes are in and Saturday we leave in a 2 Yot convoy heading out to the Gr8 Barrier. We will take advantage of a 3 day lull in the windz.
The plan is the set sail for Vhlassof Cay for a day of diving B4 choosing another reef to park up and fish, then itz just a short hop into Port Douglas where we'll give the Abacus another shake , consult the "ouija" board and see what or where the universe sends us.
Or!
We could meet a French couple "Manuel and Laura" change our plans totally during an evening of fresh pasta making and find ourselves leaving Cairns for Turtle Bay.
The plan for Vlassof Cay is still "in play" however we got all our stores filled and after a quick run to Rusty's markets for fresh fruit and vege, we managed to get away around 4 pm on Friday afternoon.
With the breeze still a solid 25 knots we will shelter in Turtle Bay until Saturday or Sunday then use the last of the strong windz 2 push us out to the cays.
There's nothing quite like having a solid plan and firmly sticking to it!
During the pasta night, the girls from our last trip to Vlassof (Anna, Minella and Yoko) came down to say farewell, so it was dinner for 10 aboard with the crew of the other Yacht Conner and Mabinta (Holland) joining  as well.
With many tears at the end of the evening Anna has decided to throw caution to the wind and head North with Conner and Mabi.
They will leave Cairns as planned on Sunday while Duncan, Laura, Manuel , Myself and of course Jake spend a leisurely day or 2 in Turtle Bay.
This will be my final visit to Turtle Bay and with any luck the experience should be far more enjoyable and less damaging than last thyme!
The Journey continues!
