V8's,GET TOWNSVILLE REVVED UP!

V8 TRACK
If You haven't guessed already, The V8 circus has rolled into town. The race literally stops the entire town from it's usual FNQ activity and everything goes into overdrive. First practice Today so I headed around the corner into the creek I regularly fish just to see what if anything I could see of the track. The answer Not much. I did manage to park under the track and feel the AWESOME rumble of the cars crossing over my head, Not 2 many people would of done that I bet. Tomorrow,  First qualifying and Race 1, I feel a great weekend coming on!
Lunch today in the yard was a traditional Lasagna with herb garlic bread. Really ,Really good. The basil, oregano, parsley ,thyme, onion, tomatoes, spinach and chilli's,all came from the back deck. The hydroponic system is finally into it's growing trial stage with Lettuce, snow pea, spring onion, parsley, chives and squash all surviving the transplant shock and doing reasonably well. The interest from other boat owners is amazing,  with one of the guy's from the yacht club coming over for a peek.I've planted a few seeds today , so we'll see how they go over the next week or 2.
I'm thinking it won't b 2 long B4 I can begin to phase out the rear deck vegie's in favour of the more stable environment of the grow room. Now I have the fun of deciding what plants to propagate. The power generator is now fully functional as is the electric hot water shower system. Tomorrow I'm planning to install the solar shower systems which should provide free hot water for the YOT. The external kitchen is really coming into it's own with most of this weeks meals cooked outside.Beef Teryaki and steamed jasmine rice being one of the highlights. The still product is definitely  drinkable with the first bottle now consumed with zero negative effects (unless you count.a hangover). Next week I'll put down another batch of sugar, yeast and water to brew into a distillable product by next Sunday. The last batch yielded 11 liters of 35% spirit base which was turned into Bourbon, scotch, kahlua and Bailey's. All really successful with the minor exception of the scotch going cloudy after a 2 day sitting period. This week I've also been giving the guy's in the yard a hand with a very BIG yacht (57ft) that is in for cyclone damage repair and a full
paint job. All going well it will be pushed back into the water next weekend. I am nearly as ready as I'll ever be for my initial Solo trip with Galley Cat's set up problems slowly being rectified. The first of the material for construction of my rear canopy has now arrived with more 2 follow in the next few weeks. Monday all going well I will begin to shorten the WFT no1 so it will fit on the furler so I'll have 2 working WFT's.  The noise 2nite is rather loud with a rock concert at the V8 track and the American Navy also in town. The final picture on tonight's update is a newly installed rear canopy on another Yacht, it's fitted with Led lighting set into the fibreglass roof that looks really effective and provides a nice soft glow over the rear cabin area (perhaps this idea will make it's way into my new canopy?)
It's time for a refill and a check of the fishing lines so Ciao 4 now and I'll probably update again after Sunday's racing is over.

"STILL" ALIVE !!!!

I started with this
G'day All, The really good news! I'm still alive!
Not through lack of trying,2 nights ago I got SUPA sick like call the Ambulance sick. Luckily I survived the Migraine that bought me undone.Took some tablets the following morning and went on to produce my first batch of YOT made Bourbon!
The end product is definitely "drinkable" while two different methods are being tried ,the instant bourbon has now been sampled and I'm still alive (even a little tipsy) I've set the Alcohol percentage at 35% and it seems to be quite a nice equivalent to my regular Friday night drink.
Several computa problems have krept in this week ,with Matt being able to sort them out ,So comments should once again appear on the Blog.Dinners ready!!! Fresh cherry tomato and basil cream fettuccine.
SoI'll update again on Friday Nite but with 4 litres of Bourbon and the V8's Here! I wouldn't expect 2 much.
