RESTED,REJUVENATED AND READY

Daybed with itz new cushions

Friday is upon me again!, work has again started on the fitout, with the daybed getting itz mattress/cushions early this week. The nights are a little nippy to sleep outdoors and the dew is out of control so for now the couch is the standard position. I've started on the design of the canopy/roof with several designs being discussed, one thing that is certain is the roof of the main cabin is about to be raised. Before any new construction begins its now time to return to the basics and waterproof all the additions and make the YOT seaworthy.

ALSO A PRETTY GOOD BED

The rear sponsons/floatation tanks have been fitted with automatic bilge pumps and a seawater pump is about to be fitted to the port sponson before we construct the two hatches over the top.
Once the sponsons are sealed, I'll be setting up the Jib (WFT white flappy thing no1) on the new roller furler that was fitted a couple of weeks ago.
This should solve the two greatest issues that showed up during Galley Cat's first voyage. The dinghy has received a new steering system this week that should outlast armageddon, bearings and mounting blocks normally used on conveyor belts now hold the steering wheel firmly to the bulkhead. The Yamaha motors are still having teething problems with rev counters and an hour meter being fitted yesterday. On the culinary front last nights' meal was a superb whole steamed cod, served with roasted pumpkin, carrot and potato. Spinach harvested from the rear deck was steamed along with an ear of sweetcorn. All in all not a terrible way to eat fish. While the oven was hot, I made a coffee glazed buttercake for friday smoko'. The cake was received well with the usual suggestions for next friday. Friday is slowly being returned to itz sacred place as the holy day of the week. Fresh yoghurt  was also made with a beautiful sultana, pineapple and cinnamon, joining the mango and strawberry flavours for this week

FIRST SIGNAGE
Now the computer is sort of back online, the contacts have flowed in with  The frozen Mermaid making contact from Ireland,Carl and big Ash ,Brad and Dee ,Mum and Dad ,Broddy ,Hanni ,and several others making there presence felt. A huge bombshell was dropped by brother Andrew and a blast from the past all went in to make this week rather special indeed. A new week begins with lots to do, and the bar being moved forward with Carlo finding lots of mackrel just off Cape Clevland yesterday so if all goes well I float the YOT next week and head that way. If "TOUCH WOOD" all goes well.
