FROM PAIN TO PARADISE!

 G'day All,
After 2 weexs of sanding and grinding Galleycatz hull it was thyme to get sum much needed relief in the form of a trip out beyond Cape Clevland.
We had spent many days sanding and painting Richard and Kenny's little project boat.
"Vision" she is now finished and back in the water so my focus has turned to getting the final paint job prep ready on the Yot.
This is no small feat as up to 11 layers of different types of paint have 2B removed to give a smooth stable surface for the final gloss paint job.
But the dust and heat took their toll and saner thortz prevailed so we left the Marina Saturday morning and headed for Salamander.
Our first nite we anchored on the Reef in an effort to repeat the previous trips suxcess.
A few nice fish but nothing like last thyme.
The big tides made fishing do-able but not much fun.
Still some nice Nannygai and perch fillets plus the ever present squid for both bait and food.
The break was exactly what was needed and itz managed to install a little balance back in my life.
The 2 cyclonez that have formed either side of us mean the weather is hot and sticky and unbearable so being parked on a piece of coral reef in the open ocean is welcome relief from the heat and dust of the Slipway.
On the following morning I needed some calm water style relief !, so we headed down the coast a little to a spot on the chart called Paradise Bay ( you can't possibly go wrong with a name like that).
Calm water and gr8 scenery was just what we found!
Jeff who's been helping me with the sanding got his first taste of life aboard when there isn't sanders and paint chips flying everywhere.
We spent most of the day here!, generally recovering from the last weekz efforts.
A couple of short swims also kept us cool.
A late morning full cooked Galleycat breakfast was our treat with a mug of fruit cocktail to wash it down.
We went ashore late in the day to check out a fresh water spring that lead onto the beach. Millions of tadpoles and a deep green tinge meant the water wasn't very inviting so a swim at the beach was in order.
The afternoon was used for a bit of cleaning and maintenance B4 we decided to take the Yot out onto the now glass calm ocean in search of a good spot for a nite thyme fish. We ended up parked on a coral reef just near 20ft rocks.
It was then thyme for music, fellixer and fishing to keep us busy through the nite.
Morning saw me diving on the reef to free a snagged dinghy tow cable  B4 we set off bak 2wards Townsville and the "real" world.
The real world is just as Hot and uncomfortable as it was B4 we left.
I'm now in a state of limbo as I await a place on the Slip to complete the paintjob.
The Yot loox much like a patchwork quilt at the moment but if this limbo period lasts much longer I'm thinking a rolled on coat of white ceiling paint will have to do.
I don't know if itz fate or kosmic reality?
I've just read the 3rd Blog entry  3
 years ago!,
22/1/2012 change the name of the Yot and I'm exactly where I waz.!
Only more...
and now itz "Vision" thatz getting her new roof .
Many lessons have been learnt, but the Qld weather is still the same
