TOO MANY RULEZ!

 

G'day all  Itz thyme to leave Perth behind and set "sail" for more productive fishing area'z far North from here. Itz not 4 lack of trying but there'z way 2 much fishing pressure on the "spotz" 

We recently went 37 miles offshore on big ash's boat only 2B confronted with 3 boatz already on the spot! Lotz and lotz of snapper but not one "sized" that didn't stop this nice grey banded cod from coming out 2 play. Fresh fillets at last! 30 plus undersized snapz had the electric reelz working over thyme! 

As I said at the start itz thyme 2 leave Perth behind and head towards 2 rox for the yot'z annual lift out and anti-foul. Hopefully this year the Hempel Anti fouling haz worked better than last year,

Itz finally happened!

The troublesum genset haz left the yot and been transported to a deisel mechanic in Mandurah. He is an agent for Mase Mariner Gensetz, so he should have no problem in the task of making the genset finally operational and ready to handle the upcoming trip to the Kimberly's.

Months have passed since we lifted the genset out of the engine room but with the Xmas break nothing waz going 2B done in the last few weex of 2023. Now the starz and moonz have aligned and with lotz of help from big Ash and hiz hiab truck, We were able to load the engine on2 the ute for the trip to Mandurah.

Itz several weex later and our diagnosis of the genset waz correct. The injection pump iz stuffed. However with no new pumps available world wide (believe me when I say we tried) we have got hold of a rebuild kit and the injection pump fairies are working on it. But itz no cheap fix with fairies and mechanix normally desiring payment 4 their services.

Only when the genset returnz to the yot will I be able to head North as moving the Mechanic from Mandurah (100km's) South of Perth to Two Rocks Marina (100km's) North of Perth iz cost prohibitive.

On the lift out front the new anti-foul haz arrived and just needz 2B picked up from Fremantle.

The replacement echo sounder haz been found after going "AWOL" for more than 4 yearz, it waz finally tracked down to Ash's garage in a tub labeled Blow up toys! This iz the sounder that waz fitted to the original Galleycat and removed and stored very carefully until we needed it and with failing memory I couldn.t remember or find itz hiding spot.

The use-less watermaker haz now been removed and moved on to a new yottie who swearz he'll be able to get it going.  No need to have a watermaker onboard when I'm heading back in2 the Kimberlies for the next few years as there'z shitloads of water up there!

The space left from the watermakerz removal haz been turned into sumthing much more useful   "A SHED". 3 new shelves will hold heaps of plastic shopping baskets as an organizational system.

So even as the yot sitz idle there'z still jobz getting done itz just no where near as exciting as touring the Northern half of the state.

As well as the shed the first of the upstairs rail covers and curtainz have arrived. These will give me the opportunity to completely close off the upstairs when the wind iz 2 strong for practical enjoyment or for the plants.
