WELCOME 2 "CATLAND"!!!

"HO HUM!"
 G'day all,
               Welcome 2 my week!
Normally half these foto's wood B erased.com.au.
However due 2 bourbonification (wkoa) U'll get 2 cee all 2nite!
G'day Brad,Miss Dee,Koby and Master Declan!
The week started so "Ho Hum!" as "Mah" is testifying 2.
Lotz of work but not much progress! That is,Till 2day!
The rails and roof  R taking lotz of bakground work but the end is in site!
This week has seriously, involved lotz of 3 steps 4ward and 7 stepz back."Cest la vie!"
While the early weather was foul, I've headed indoors and finished the 3 new kitchen drawers that'll fit the new kitchen bench."well almost" Really!
"OK! DRAW!"
They look good don't they!?
Even if they R only the blanks!
The new bench is now organised and will fit on top of these drawerz 2 cre8 the ultimate indoor stainless plastic8d workbench.
This workbench waz involved with 2day's Friday lunch, a truely American affair!
We had the ultimate Yankee lunch. B.B.Q Bourbon Smoked spare ribs, coleslaw ,onion rings, pickles and cajun wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce. While the title soundz kind of simple 4 a chef, the concept of "smoking" B.B.Q'd  ribs on a Barbie is very different!
Lotz of experimentation (wkoa) later.
"U BUTE .COM.AU!"
I managed a semi resonable version!
The smoking side of thing's was a little interesting, with lotz of flame and not much smoke! However after a little work(and some inspiration (wkoa) from Ken, the concept came 2gether. The ribs "were smoked, lotz !"
No oxygen is the key!
The new kitchen is really becoming practicle!(side note!)
The fishing side of thingz has died in the posterior!
Zero fish and only small crabz! 2 be found.

BLOGUS INTERUPTUS!

"SOVEREIGN B.B.Q's.COM.AU!"
The "I Fish " crew have just visited Steep point!
 Fukk'n Muppetz!
They used Hal Harvey (Bluewater, scarborough) as a Steep point Guide! They really should of used BIG ASH! Long live the king!
He introduced me 2 Steepz, far more betterer!, than Hal did 4 Paul Worsteling. I reckon -14 Spaniards, 2 yellowfin tuna and 1 very large (204lb)8ft long sailfish from the rockface, is,  4 your 1st day"Not a bad day, really"! and don't even ask about the Peached mackerel steaks!

"SAFETY RAILZ LEFT!"
We did way betta than Hal and Paul, lotz of fish with an even betta experience  the following year, when we discovered "THE HIGH SIDE! "
8 seconds freefall for the bait 2 hit the water, then 2 seconds 2 catch a 10kg snapper!15mins winding the alvey reel back 2 the top, truely AWESUM!
Only 2 have that reel "explode" that nite, from compression sickness!
This following trip we scored more pink snapper than we could count.
400ft cliff fishing! "WOW!"
The show didn't do "STEEPZ" justice!

BLOGUS INTERUPTUS! (again)

Itz been 2 hours since I typed the first few paragraphz. Brother Andrew's bean on D fone, followed immediately behind by Brother Mark!
Several in depth discussionz L8ter. Itz now dark and I now feel closer 2 my family than I have 4 a LONG, LONG thyme!
The work on GALLEYCAT continues unabated, and .2day waz the BIGGEST day 4 a long thyme!
The side safety railz R finished (not swedished or pole-ished, not polished) and the PERGOLA is finally aboard!
You really have no idea how much work is involved with stainless welding, next thyme someone quotez $2000 for a bracket, reject the quote and try it Ur self , WOW!  What a buzz!
I reckon without a doubt 20/30 man hours of labour have gone into the fitting/manufacture of theze railz.
"SAFETY RAILZ RITE!"
It waz not until the Pergola was fitted 2day that the rails became a truely solid part of the CAT!
The exager8ed curve we've maintained during construction makes an unbelievable shape difference 2 the YOT!
Now the Pergola haz arrived, from itz brief vacation(wkoa) on the ground ,these railz are far more impressive than even I thought they'd B!
Just B4 midday 2day, Vaughan (crane man) rang 2 say he'd be early! What THE!
I'm in the middle of smoking ribs, cooking wedges and the onion ringz are in the batter.
Oh well! neva look a gifted horse in the mouth!
And after lotz and lotz of abbrevi8ed /shortend discussionz, the crane waz hooked 2 the Pergola.  YIPPEE!
Then after "franz" tried to kill himself by stepping off the back of "Panterra" (the yacht he was working on!) We hooked up the recently painted "pergola" to the crane 4 a quik flip, B4 the roof made itz way across the yard to the bak of Galleycat!
"LET'S LIFT IT!"

"ALMOST THERE!"
What an exhibition of organised chaos!
However despite our best effortz "The Pergola" made a safe landing aboard the Yot (it didn't even ask permission 2 cum aboard!)
The difference waz instantly visible.
10 degree's (does any1 know how to write degree's with the symbol instead of letters on a puta) cooler on the rear deck, with unbelievable shade and a true reason 2 celebr8!

BLOGUS INTERUPTUS AGAIN!

Matt's just Rrived bak afta a short trip down 2 Bowen, 2 pick up a folding electrik bike for $500 ,not bad,  a $2000 bike for a few hundred dollus!
Lucky Bastard!
Anyway bak 2 the YOT!
We fitted the Pergola with just a few Tek screwz 2 hold it down till I can get the new boltz fitted!
This is probably the biggest step in the final completion of Galleycat!
The back half of the Yot is 95% done, itz taken nearly six months and several hundred hours of thunking and work 2 make this roof a reality. Without Ken this would not have been possible! I cannot understate this simple fact!

"HONEY,I'M HOME!"
There's something incredibly comforting about seeing that 4 wheel drive show up each mornin!
He's been there, seen it and done it all, and sometimez he's done it twice!(2 quote KBW), but honestly my admiration (wkoa) is solid.
"SEMI ORGANIZED CHAOS!"
The Pergola is "now a reality!" itz fitted 2 the Yot, it shadez the Yot and it Compliments the Yot.
Which is far more than any normal chef can ask 4!
(IMPRESSIVE ISN'T IT)
Now the work really beginz, unfortun8ly,thatz  the way of the YOT!
This foto show's the organised chaos I referred 2 last week.

"DON"T BUMP UR HEAD!"

"WATERTITE SEAL!"
Itz a "godz eye" view of my next major work area, that is, after the fitting of the lights and solar panelz,2 wind generators and lotz of sowing of blindz. Just a week or 7's worth.
Once again, it is truely worth it!
We R now in morning discussionz as 2 the final shape of the bow rail and boarding ladder, and the placement and manufacture of the 2 sun lounges that will become my reading/sailing position (when the sea's R calm).
All these extra's, will B aluminium which has already arrived in the yard, thanks wholly 2 Dad's hardware "contacts",
The drain pipes for the wires/backstay's have been cunningly hidden (if you want 2 hide something! Make people look straight at it!)
They R electrical safety orange,So if you hit UR head on them while visiting, EXPECT LAUGHTER AND MUCH RIBBING, or at least "I warned you!
This week has also involved several major purchases 4 the Yot, the helmet camera and the gps/plotter system have been sourced along with the new cleats, for mooring the Yot,as well as several electrical items for the rear deck area and internal lighting.
It won't be long now before I'm writing this blog from the back of some unknown reef or island that you'll have to "google earth" just to fathom how much my life has changed 4 the betta!
I'm now learning how 2 edit and load video footage to this blog so each week you'll get a couple of minutes of Fishing,Food and Fun. In living color!
Well thatz the idea/concept! but I am a tecvhnikal iddit!
But 4 now thatz about all 4 this week from "GALLEYCATLAND.COM.AU"
Not an email address just "my life"

Welcome all! and good luck on living your dream.
