WHITSUNDAY'S RE-VISITED !!!!

 ITZ FINALLY HAPPENED!!!
The Yot haz left Townsville and is now in
"THE WHITSUNDAY'S"
Yippee!!
Tuesday noon we left the yard for a qwik trip up to the swing basin in the harbour.
This allowed us the thyme to sort out the dinghy load system without the added pressure of the tide going out underneath us.
1 1/2 hours later and much swearing and cre8ivity we had the dinghy aboard and left Townsville Harbour.
The ocean was as close to flat calm as you can get, wivout the glass off effect.
We rounded Cape Clevland around 4.30 in the arvo and immediately set course 4 Salamander reef.
Found salamander around 5 pm! Kenny had fished here on the weekend and scored a few good phish, so I thort a few lures might not go astray.
Suxcess: 1 mackerel fell victim to the middle rod.
Followed soon by a tuna on the outside rod.
Our rod holders were simple bits of pipe zip tiyed to the verticle fishing platform.
 I'd never had a dinghy onboard B4 so the old rod holders didn't do us much good.
 We steamed through twighlight, sunset and then through the nite.

Mushroom and fetta pizza's made a welcome meal through the dark hourz on a very calm sea.
Around midnight the port motor stopped, but aside from that the trip to the reef was a dream.
Lunch thyme next day found us tied up at Hope Reef on the Gr8 Barrier.
A truly awesum spot!
I'd show you the images from "mastcam" but the camera was destroyed during the shakedown trip. A new 1 is ordered, but hadn't arrived b4 we left.
but I did climb the mast to give you an idea of how the backyard looked this afternoon.
Lunch was fresh mackerel sushimi followed by a dive.
Fantastik corals and fish had us returning 2 the Yot quickly to set up the "POWERDIVE" unit.
The unit is as described,
pull it out of the box and dive in!
The whole thing  worked a treat and we soon had a trout and emporer for dinner.
Grilled fish 4 varieties served lemon and a birdseed "kinoa"dish and grilled asparagus.
Early to bed 4 a solid well earned sleep.
At dawn we woke to paradise! crystal clear water!, a fresh platter of chilled fruit then we set orff 4 Bait Reef.
The breeze had uther idea's and after several storm cells went past and ova us we made landfall at the top end of Glouster Island,
 Lunch was smoked chicken and salad wrappz served with 18 knot winds and ruff seas.
We found a nice lookin bay about half way down the Island , then jumped in for a qwik dive.
 Waste of thyme "too mirky".
Bak to the yot to re-asses the situation!
ie: pour a bourbon.
Set ashore around 5.30 pm. Picked a few oysters for a snack.
Went bak to Galleycat for a dinner of sesame crusted mackerel served with a nice budgie food salad and
 Grilled eggplant.
Not a bad weigh to spend 48 hours!
