PART 2 (Much Delayed)!

Pear,mango,and passionfruit yoghurt 4 Breakfast!

 G'day All,
It's been awhile since the last update!
We arrived safely back in Townsville just in thyme for a Friday Nite Session (what a problem).
Much Food and Alcohol was consumed along with much Merriment and Music. In fact I'm almost positive my drink was "spiked" !
Yes, Ash! I'm looking in your direction!
It seemed the more Coke I added to my Bourbon the "clearer" it got. This resulted in a very early nite 4 me!
With our arrival came another,       "THE SUPERMOON" with this came an unexpected "Supa Funk"! I decended rapidly into a major depression spiral.
Luckily I was able to recognize it for what it was and take some early recovery steppz!
Still itz taken more than a week to pull myself back, and begin again.
It seemed all to much for many, many days!
The list of things needing my attention was HUGE! This coupled with the supermoon sapped my motivation completely, however I've started on the task of  addressing the many issues that we found during our trip to the Hinchinbrook

The first of these issues was the "rear fishing deck", while incredibly functional!, it was dipping into the water while sailing causing both drag and back splashing. So my first thought was too remove it altogether but "saner" thoughtz prevailed and itz now been fitted with a hinging system allowing it 2B drawn up into the rear of the Yot while under way.
The rear sponsons (boots) also caused "major" problems during our trip, these have now been fitted with 2 bilge pump systems,so finga's crossed this ongoing saga will soon be solved.
This week will see me fitting the covers of these  "boots" with watertite seals and latches. Giving them a completely waterproof capacity, with pump out facilities as well. I'll also fit each one with an inspection hatch so they can be visually inspected for problems without removing the entire hatch cover.
I've got a solid week of work in the yard, with a Govt Transport patrol boat up on the big cradle. So I'll be spending most of my waking hours on this boat, however this won't slow progress on Galleycat too much.
I'm currently fitting new shelving to the inside kitchen area. This will clear the side wall in preparation for its removal to allow construction to begin on the new refrigeration.
The microwave oven has now been moved to a new location at the rear of the kitchen allowing 4 the new shelves to be fitted.
With this work comes a new focus and it's only a few weeks B4 I head out again. This thyme I'm going to "the reef" regardless! I've set up a sail plan and timeline that will see me at Broadhurst reef off Cape bowling green in the next few weeks. Then perhaps down to the Whitsunday Islands, We'll see!
Manda Mermaid is heading to Australia some time this coming month so if the stars and moons align correctly, I'll  catch up with Her. "U have 2 love her attitude", Her friend has a house in NSW and needs a hand 2 paint it,so Mermaid is travelling from the other side of the world to help! Not Bad!
"Happy Mothers Day" 2 Mum!
In fact," Happy Mothers day" to all  Mum's!
Present and Past.

Thatz all from Fnq 4 now!

Captain Felix

  1. Hey AUssie,
Hope you and Ash had a great time which appears to be the case! Sorry to hear a dip in your mood but be assured that Ive had a bit of a downer of late, join the boat as they say! Had MRI scan last week due to pain and awaiting results. Dont think anything horribly wrong so just to make sure. My Oz trip is delayed but as soon as Im given the all clear Ill be with my "cousins" Down Under!! Yeahhhh! Chin up, smile and take a deep breath and F**k all the sh*t that gets ya down. A big hug sent through the moon and stars.

  2. Greetings, CF.
Glad to hear that the funk is subsiding - we all get it at times !!!! Your "huge' list of things to be done will seem much less in direct ratio with the subsiding of the funk, too. One thing at a time. Good to hear from Mermaid = hope her tests were OK, and that she can visit you soon. The hinged fishing deck looks good - and what a relatively easy solution to a "major" problem !!! Haven't heard from Ash since he got back - hope he had a relaxing time away from all the hustle and bustle of family life, at least for a short time.Only 3 days of school this week, for the first time in a long while, as Veronica is back this week - can't wait til Thursday to have a day off with time to myself. Spoke to Mark today, and he says the idea of starting his sail from Airlie sounds like a good idea. He was also going to see about a slightly later flight out of Brisbane, so he can go and look, between flights, at a house he's bought there. I mentioned the Proserpine possibility, too, so he was going to look into that as well. I think he's really looking forward to a break, too.
Heading for bed now, as it's getting late.
    Take care
    Mum XO
